The walk between the towers

On the morning of 7 August 1974, Philippe Petit stepped onto a steel cable strung between the roofs of the World Trade Center towers, four hundred metres above lower Manhattan, and stayed on it for about three quarters of an hour. He crossed eight times, knelt, and lay down on the wire. Getting the rigging up had taken months of planning, forged identity cards and a night of work; he was arrested on the roof, and the charges were dropped in exchange for a free performance in Central Park.

Why this oneThe hard part was the paperwork, not the wire.
